Nestled in the quietness of Buliisa Town Council, The Pavonina Hotel is a small and neatly layout hotel along Siira Road in the periphery of Buliisa Town Council. The hotel is named after a black crowned crane (Balearica pavonina) which inhabits the wetter areas around Murchison Falls National Park. It is a bird of national significance to Uganda, occupying a prime position on the country’s national flag and coat of arms. Yet despite its serenity, beauty and popularity, the crested crane is facing the threat of extinction. And thus, in most in need of conservation efforts. The Pavonina Hotel aims to be at the forefront of conserving the crane by creating awareness on environmental conservation for the communities within the vicinity of Murchison Fall National Park and Bugungu game reserve.

The Pavonina Hotel currently has a 10 fully furnished rooms. The hotel room décor is very simple with a blend of materials found naturally in the region yet sophisticated and modern featuring rustic accented furniture and finishing.

Located 25 minutes away from Murchison Falls National Park Bugungu gate and 40 minutes away from Paraa bridge, The Pavonina provides the most suitable accommodation outside the park convenient for an early morning game drive or late evening drive.

The spacious restaurant roofed with grass locally found in the wild brings a natural and calmness when having a meal in the mid-afternoon heat in Buliisa.  The restaurant is spacious enough to have a fruitful meeting for about 50 people with no need for air conditioning since The Pavonina Hotel also promotes environmental conservation through non emission of gases that may degrade the ozone layer.
