Welcome to the Citizen Cafe and Chambers: a place to rest and refuel where all are welcome. We are a unique social enterprise focused on hospitality and community that believes in the power of people; in the immense potential of what we can accomplish when we work together to take care of each other. We are comprised of an apartment and a restaurant that serve both locals and visitors alike. Fifty percent of our profits go toward supporting young surgeons who are completing their training with the College of Surgeons of East, Central, and South Africa (COSECSA) at the Mbale Regional Referral Hospital. Whether you need a comfortable place to stay in Mbale or just want to unwind at our beautiful rooftop restaurant, you can rest assured that you will be taken care of while directly contributing to expanding surgical services in Uganda — let us take care of you so that we can better take care of each other.
