1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use Electronic Tourism Link (“the platform”, “we”, “us”) to find, book or list places to stay and things to do in Uganda. By using the platform you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data.
2. What we do
The platform lets independent accommodation providers (“hosts”) list their properties, and lets travellers find them, send inquiries and, where a host has enabled it, book and pay online. Unless stated otherwise, the host, not Electronic Tourism Link, provides the accommodation and is responsible for it.
3. Listings
Hosts write their own listings, including descriptions, photos, amenities, location, prices and policies. We review listings before they are published and may edit, reject or remove any listing, but we cannot guarantee that every detail is complete or accurate. If something looks wrong, please contact us.
4. Bookings and inquiries
Instant bookings are confirmed once payment has been completed and you receive a booking reference. Your contract for the stay is with the host.
Inquiries are messages to the host. No booking exists until the host confirms availability and you agree the details with them.
You must be at least 18 years old to make a booking, and the details you give (such as your name and contact information) must be accurate.
5. Prices and payment
Prices are set by hosts in Ugandan shillings (UGX). Amounts shown in other currencies are approximate and for guidance only. Online payments are processed by Pesapal and are subject to Pesapal’s own terms. We do not store full card or mobile money details.
6. Cancellations and refunds
Each host sets their own cancellation terms, shown on the property page. If you cancel, or a host cannot honour a confirmed booking, any refund due is handled according to those terms and paid back through Pesapal to your original payment method. Refunds may take time to reach you depending on your bank or mobile money provider.
7. Your responsibilities as a guest
Treat the property, its staff and other guests with respect, follow the host’s house rules, and leave the property in the condition you found it. You may be responsible for damage you cause during your stay.
8. Your responsibilities as a host
Hosts must have the right to offer the property, hold any licences or permits required under Ugandan law, keep their listing accurate and up to date, honour confirmed bookings and their stated cancellation terms, and treat guests fairly and safely.
9. Accounts
Keep your password secure and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or are used fraudulently.
10. Acceptable use
Do not use the platform to post false, misleading or unlawful content, to send spam, to interfere with the site’s operation, or to collect other users’ personal data without permission.
11. Our liability
We work to keep the platform accurate and available, but we provide it “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the acts or omissions of hosts or guests, for the condition of any property, or for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Ugandan law.
12. Content and intellectual property
The platform’s design, text and software belong to us or our licensors. By submitting content such as listing descriptions and photos, hosts confirm they have the right to use it and allow us to display it on the platform and in promoting it.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda, and the courts of Uganda have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
